Welcome To Heaven In Mumbai..Havana Cafe & Bar Launch :)

A cute and happening Cuban pub called Havana Cafe & Bar is the just the place to go to for a night of fun with friends after a loooong office week. One thing I would really like to point out right at the start is that, unlike most other pubs where music is super loud and is dedicated to just drinks, some chakna and people dancing, the theme of Havana is pretty refreshing, with different events taking place through the month, such as Ladies Nights, Open Mic Nights, Poetry Nights and the like. Bringing the lavish party culture of Cuba, which in fact blends in perfectly with Mumbai’s Friday and Saturday party culture, Havana Cafe & Bar proves to be just the place to drink and laugh with friends, owing to their beautiful cocktails and scrumptious food, along with their really, really funky deals through the week!

Recently, my friend and I went for one of their cool poetry nights, which was hosted by Youtube sensation Aranya Johar (who recently shot to fame for her video about an average Indian girl’s struggle in India for her own identity) and had everyone is splits. The line up for the poetry gig was also pretty impressive with their voices sharing their opinions on a range of topics, right from how it is a crime today to be a bald youth today, to how our martyrs deserve more than a moment of silence!

Coming to pait-pooja, although they are not too big on food, what they do offer is pretty yum, especially their nachos and onion rings, and their range of 13 different types of dips proved to be just perfect for the night! Personally I prefer this too, with not too many items to confuse you for choices, and dips are my personal favourite too. The list of their cocktails, most of them Rum-based (Cuban style, wink wink) definitely left me asking for more. Starting with Jack Sparrow (White Rum, Kahlua and Expresso), I also had Zombie (3 types of Rum, Grapefruit, Passion Fruit, Lime Juice, Grenadine and Absinthe – my favourite!!!) and The Freedom Fighter (white & dark rum, triple sec, bitters, orange juice, pineapple juice, lime juice and orgeat syrup).

Apart from these, I also found out from their uber-cool menu about their Cigars & Cigerrates and the very tempting Rs. 72 menu! This pocket-loving menu serves drinks and food at just Rs. 72 everyday between 6-8 pm and I cannot wait to try this next time I’m here!
