The Clearing House Ballard Estate Weekend Brunch Review : Delicious Diaries Go Healthy
One of the places I will go back multiple times because it is near perfect in everything.
Menu = Had brunch last saturday and it had loads of delicious + healthy salads, smoothies, pasta, noodles, burgers, nachos and such dishes on the menu for veg as well as non-veg lovers.
Ambiance = Superlative. One step inside and it is like stepping in a parallel dimension. First off, spacious. Second, huge French windows, sun-lit, bright outer seating plus luxurious inner lounge area. Vibrant, special ambiance for spending with friends or even for a romantic outing.
Service = Flawless. Top-notch fine dine feel, staff is exemplary and makes one feel at ease instantly.
Price = On expensive side, but absolutely reasonable for the quality of food, service and ambiance here.
Coming to the star attraction, food itself, everything was excellent and as described in the menu. Freshly made, flavorful ingredients, exotic masterchef level presentation. We tried salads, smoothies, desserts and couple of appetizers and literally everything made us go Wow. Special mention to what I personally loved the most-
Carrot & Orange smoothie-special thing about smoothies here, no added sugar or sugary flavor, pure taste of ingredients.
Avocado & Chocolate smoothie -Frankly I expected a loaded powdered chocolate taste but this was just so different, filling, healthy, natural, it took me by surprise and despite not being a huge chocolate or avocado lover, I fell in love with it! It has more avocado than chocolate but try it, won't get it anywhere else.
Red Quinoa & Cauliflower Salad - Could have this everyday if possible. Did not want to share it with anyone and was actually eating slow so it won't finish soon :D
Poutine - Fries, mushroom gravy, onions, tomatoes, what an amazing calorie binge, worth it to have a cheat day for this!
Asparagus & Green Apple Salad - Had water chestnuts too, crunchy-tangy flavors burst on the tongue, explosively good.
Honey Flan - There can be entire blogs dedicated to this dessert alone, it remains one of the best desserts I have ever eaten and to think that it is gluten as well as sugar free! Have it to believe the hype.
Try to not fill up on the complimentary lavash chips-butter combo they serve in the beginning, it is sooooo good I almost overdosed on those :P
All in all, The Clearing House clears all the parameters to become a must-visit recommendation on my foodie destination list :)
